The Negotiator
So the weatherbug said 40F yesterday I decided to take my dd out for a run. When I proposed the idea to the 21/2 yr old her automatic response was "NO". So I had to do some creative negotiating that began with offering her food and ended with suggesting she wear her snow suit!!! "Snowsuit" she exclaimed "Let's get ready." So we both layered and bundled up and drove downtown to the Greenway which is an out and back 3.6 miles on a paved trail. Maggie climbed into her jog stroller and I thought we were set to go when I couldn't get the harness buckle over the snowsuit. Maggie insists "Don't worry Mom, I won't jump out." So off we went hoping I wouldn't slip and tip the "sled". I Iron Willed through a couple of snowy spots and got almost to the end when I decided I better turn around, I was getting tired and wanted to make it back. It's a whole new running experience when you are running while pushing 33lbs. It was helpful toward the end when she began chanting "Good job, Mom" . I ran for 31 min and I figure it was about 3 miles. It wasn't 40F more like mid 30's my bum was cold when we finished but Maggie was toasty warm inside her suit.
